With the onset of the warmer weather the appetites of the reptiles increases accordingly. The alligator in the picture normally feeds only during the months from October through to March, starting with one weekly feeding building up to four to five feeds per week at this time of the year. |
| To cope with the demand by the lizards for livefood many types of insects are bred at the Reptile Park. Large quantities of locusts, crickets and houseflies are needed as well as mealworms, wax moth larvae, whiteworms and as seasonably available, silkworms. |
